I show you how you can adjust the Shimano Nexus 3 speed Internal-Gear Hub Bike Shifter easily. The problem on this bike was that it was jumping gears and going to the third gear although the shifter was set to second gear. Steps for adjusting: 1) Set the shifter to the middle gear (second gear) 2) open the lug nut on the shifter with a 10mm key 3) turn the barrel roller (turn with pliers if tight) 4) adjust until you have the yellow dot between the white lines 5) close the lug nut again - DONE If you have trouble getting the yellow line into position perhaps the shifter unit is out of place like in my case so I also show you how you can take the shifter unit off and position it correctly. The Shimano Nexus 3 is manufactured with a ratchet that makes a distinctive clicking sound (is present when both backpedaling as well as coasting) Nexus 8 is almost silent when backpedaling or coasting ,clicking only when backpedaling in gears 5, 6, 7 and 8. Both hub dragging compared to derailleurs.
LUBRICATION: do not use HTB, it will stuff it up in no time, use something more slurpy, like the white shimano formulated hup gear grease, or the shimano formulated blue oil for hub gears. semi-liberal doses in the bearings, bell housing, and planetry gears, the rest will get lubricated from a bit of use. although in a pinch you could use sunscreen or sorbilene cream!!!!

Hier in dem Video von GreenBike-Shop zeige ich euch wie Ihr die Shimano Nexus 3 Gang Schaltung einstellen könnt. Das Einstell-Video in schriftlicher Form: Als erstes schaltet ihr den Drehgriff in den 2ten Gang, danach schauen wir uns unten an der Nabe die Schaltbox an. Hier muss im zweiten Gang die gelbe Markierung zwischen den beiden weißen Strichen sein, dafür lösen wir die eine Mutter mit einem 10er Maulschlüssel und können dann die Justierschraube so weit drehen, bis die gelbe Markierung zwischen den beiden weißen Strichen der 3 Gang Schaltung ist. Nun noch die Mutter wieder festschrauben.
