The major reason I prefer Nvidia above AMD (ATI in the past) is the driver issues AMD/ATI still has. This is an issue that lives on for at least 10 years. I've owned two AMD/ATI graphic cards (9800 XT and HD7750) and both had the same driver issues.
I saw the same driver issues in my professional life as an IT administrator. The last time about a year ago. I don't know why these compatibility issues aren't solved yet, but it's a shame. AMD/ATI creates powerful graphic cards!
As an AMD "fan", I prefer their CPUs instead of Intel's.
