I honestly preferred the second season to the first. I enjoy a good character development arc, and the story was never supposed to be about revenge. That said, Vinland Saga also holds a bit more personal meaning to me than it would for a lot of the people criticizing the turn in Season 2. Season 1 was airing during a time where I moved out to Western Newfoundland on the Gulf of St. Lawrence, where Vinland historically was. I actually lived in what the Vikings called Vinland. I even visited the L'Anse Aux Meadows historic site on the Northern coast of the island, where the historic Thorfinn is thought to have actually settled. So reading and watching Thorfinn's story and character progression in trying to find a place to peacefully exist always hit different, because it always reminds me of that peaceful, quiet chapter of my own life. I actually moved from Newfoundland right around the time that Season 2 finished. I just sat and watched it recently since moving, and the nostalgia and fond memories of my times in that place hit like a shit-ton of bricks. So I fully admit that this also colors my judgments about the series.
What is the song that starts playing at naWqfcmrz58&t=11m20s 11:20 ? It sounds really good and I don’t see a track list in the description

Vinland saga is not for everyone. Who knows the history and what happened in year 1000 .
once you dream a season 1 type of writing because of the way season 2 is written, then that is your first signal to stop watching it. why ? because you don't get the point of this great story. you stop and you grow up more, then try again watching it.
I binged watched season 2 while I was in a depressive state of mind. The amount of emotions that welled up in me. I can’t relate to the sorrows of warfare or slavery, but I understand their guilt and sadness.
i admit that i liked the first season because of the action but season 2 hits different ya know
Where do you get your music? And what’s your general editing process
It is a great anime/manga to learn from.
Vinland Saga is an anime where the main character goes from Sasuke Uchiha to Ghandi.
Honestly, I just feel when people start to think there is no way to stop warfare, the violence as a solution cannot be avoided, or avoiding conflict is weakness and cowardliness, this world starts to become a very dangerous place.
I think Vinland Saga is the only medium I have seen in recent years that truly elaborates on the idea of “why violence is bad”. Anime is a medium resonates with me greatly, and season 2 made me think a lot about my own life, our current society, and how can I be kinder to others. It really is more than just an anime for me.
People don't like when art refuses to change what it is to pander to its viewers.
I gave Vinland Saga season 2 a 10/10 .
Unironically I instantly fell in love with season 2 of Vinland Saga. I honestly prefer it more over season 1. Season 1 is good, but season 2 is even better in my opinion. Much more deep introspection of the characters and their mental phyche as well as their relationship to violence and war on a deeper level. Season one had deep moments but nothing compares to how philosophical and thought provoking season 2 is . Season 2 took what season 1 had in terms of themes and went a step even further into it. I've never been this passionate about a Manga / Anime in awhile. Vinland Saga reminded me why I read Manga and why I watch Anime in the first place .
Amazing video ! Well said!
actions beget violence, violence begets murder, from ignorance breeds hypocrisy, and that is your responsibility to know, it is your karma to put you down since your hubris is one way how you blamed everyone but you, vinland saga changes, and this seinen is result of your hate, no remorse, and no guilt, "THERE ARE NO ENEMIES, ONLY INNOCENT BEINGS FORCED DOWN BY IGNORANCE" AND YOU HAVE YOURSELF TO BLAME. ✌️ Peace out ✌️!
Season 3 is going to be wild, especially for the action-enjoyers. I don't know what to expect of Season 4's reception, though!
To be frank, I for most part did enjoy Vinland saga seasons 2 even though it was drastically different in terms of showcasing fights and actions. One thing that completely took me off guard was the change of Thorfin in both as appearance and his ideals as a character shaped throughout season 2. I kind of liked the violent and menacing Thorfin from back in season 1.
